Home Invasions

Community Policing Officer Nate Ertle reports that the Kent County Sheriff Department is currently investigating several home invasions in the West and North West area of Kent County. The home invasions have taken place on 4 mile and Alpine Church Rd in Alpine, Pine Island in Plainfield Township, and in Tyrone and Solon Townships.

These are mostly day time home invasions with the suspects posing as salesmen or pretending to be lost and asking for directions. If someone comes to your door that is suspicious please call the Sheriff Department (632-6100).
Common stories used are:
  • I lost my pet and wondered if you have seen it.
  • Pretend to have a package to deliver but leave when the door is answered
  • Saying they are lost looking for directions
  • Saying that they thought there was something for sale at this address
  • That they were looking for a friend that they thought lived at this address

We do not have any suspect information at this time. If you have any information about these home invasions contact the Kent County Sheriff’s Office 616 632-6100 or Silent Observer at 774-2345
